A magic wand has been waved over one of Clerkenwell’s favourite gastropubs, The Well. It is also a favourite destination for a number of Barbican residents. The venture transforms the pub/restaurant’s subterranean bar into exotic Brazilian beach pop-up (but without any sun), AbraCachaça.
The Well is thus working with premium Brazilian cachaça brand Ypióca ands gives visitors the opportunity to celebrate Brazil’s national sugarcane spirit.
The AbraCachaça basement bar at The Well
Bountiful bar snacks, tropical tipples and Latin American beats will ensure the Brazilian party never stops, come rain or shine. Expert garçoms behind the bar will be shaking their stuff and serving spellbinding cocktails with fresh and fruity flavours including the Houdini (Ypióca Prata, mango juice and coconut milk), The Illusionist (Ypióca Prata, watermelon and sugar syrup) and Cloak & Daggers (Ypióca Prata, lychee, lime and fresh chilli).
This could be as close as you can get to the sandy shores of Copacabana or Ipanema this year, so a true taste of Brazil will be served with street food-inspired bar snacks, including chicken coxinha; cassava chips with sprinkled paprika; avocado and chimichurri bruschetta; alongside lots of British favourites too.
AbraCachaça at The Well will be open to the public Wednesday and Thursday 5pm-midnight; Friday and Saturday 5pm-1am – and is also available for private hire if you want it all to yourselves.
