Charterhouse Garden Tours

Revealing the hidden Charterhouse gardens

The Charterhouse announces Garden Tour dates for 2019

The Charterhouse, the unique historic site and almshouse in Clerkenwell, will be opening up its gardens to visitors throughout Spring, Summer and Autumn in 2019.  The gardens, which are for the benefit and wellbeing of almshouse residents, have been designed, planted and tended by former Head Gardener Claire Davies for the past nine years. Now they are under the care of new Head Gardener Kate Robinson who previously worked at the Geffrye Museum. The tours will be on one day a month from April to September, and reveal the series of beautifully planted courts, normally closed to the public, which create an oasis of calm within this seven acre estate which has witnessed so many turbulent lives lived and lost since 1348.

Garden tour dates, which are all Thursdays, are as follows:

25th April 2019, 16th May 2019, 20th June 2019, 11th July 2019, 15th August 2019, and 12th September 2019.
