Brunch means different things to different people. To our Transatlantic cousins it’s an excuse to drink Champagne in the morning while pondering which savoury-sweet combination to have from the menu. To the English it’s bacon, booze and ‘bants’. To some it’s a scientifically tested way to get from hungover to hanging out in the shortest possible time. Foxlow says its got all these covered with its new menu.

For those of you with a pounding head and a mouth like Gandhi’s flip-flop Foxlow offers this beauty (pictured above), The All Day Breakfast Burger. Bacon, tomato, a charcoal grilled sausage patty, fried egg, mushroom and cheese, because obviously a burger without cheese is a very sad thing indeed. Or the increasingly legendary Foxlow fried chicken on a buttermilk waffle with bacon, egg and plenty of chunky sausage gravy.  The restaurant’s proudest achievement, however, is the Franco-American breakfast/lunch love child, the Montecristo Cronut. A sort of croque-monsieur doughnut covered in icing sugar and maple syrup. There is no emoticon to do it justice.

Sweet potato and kale hash

For those of you walking tall without the aid of Nurofen or Barocca there are dishes that would make even the most laid-back Californian happy, like sweet potato and kale hash or homemade ricotta with London honey and avocado on sourdough toast with chilli and lime.
And for all of us, from clubber to parent-of-three, there’s booze. Sweet, sweet booze.  Foxlow’sbeen collaborating on a bottled brunch cocktail with friends Ryan and Iain from the multi-award winning White Lyan bar on Hoxton Street, as well as which they’ll offer old fashioned hangover cures like Bottomless Bloody Marys, something a bit more ‘Foxlow’, like an Aperol Spritz Slushy or the ultimate modern hangover cure from big brother Hawksmoor, the Shaky Pete’s Ginger Brew, which will be available weekends only. And if booze really isn’t your thing we’ll also have fresh pressed juices (with optional booze) and cold brew coffee from the brilliant Minor Figures.

Foxlow’s also been working on its Sunday roasts. £18 will now get you Dexter topside with a huge Yorkshire pudding and £16 will get you Roast Pork Rib-eye with a giant shard of crackling to add to that lardo roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, greens and bacon and roast autumn vegetables. Just look at it!
