Barbican Life_St Giles_0088Give and Take events are an opportunity for City residents to have a clear-out and make sure that unwanted items are reused, recycled or disposed of responsibly whilst also supporting the local community.

The next Give and Take Day will be held on Saturday 4 July at St Giles Cripplegate Church, Fore street, Barbican, EC2Y 8DA.

Bring items between 10am-12pm

Take items between 1pm-3pm (City Residents will be given priority access at 1pm. Open to the public at 2pm. Please bring proof of address)

Please bring items such as:

  • kitchenware
  • soft furnishings eg cushions, curtains etc.
  • clothing, shoes and accessories
  • toys
  • unwanted gifts
  • books
  • DVDs, CDs and videos
  • bric-a-brac
  • and much more!

We are also able to accept small electrical items such as:

  • kettles
  • toasters
  • cameras
  • phones
  • hair dryers
  • printers
  • screens and computer monitors
  • hoovers
  • radios and CD players
  • and any other similar items

Anything that isn’t taken will be given to charities or posted on the Freecycle website, where unwanted items are given away for free.

Any small electrical items brought along that do not work will be recycled.

Residents will also have the opportunity to recycle batteries, low energy light bulbs and used cooking oil. (Please bring cooking oil in plastic or metal container)

Plus, the Public Health team will be offering free blood pressure checks on the day for all over 18’s and giving away information via leaflets and brochures on the day. They will also be providing information regarding the location of their drop in sessions for Free NHS Health Checks, in the City of London
