We are thrilled to fill you in on the news that the Barbican Knitting Group – Craftversation – who meet every Monday at the Barbican Library are on board with helping to make the flowers for the knitted set of The Snow Queen at Park Theatre this Christmas.
The Spring section of the show will have a ‘knitted set’ which will look like it has been yarn-bombed with spring flowers. See some yarn-bombing examples here.
In addition to this, the actors playing three of the flowers will have knitted head pieces.
Knitters from all across Europe are helping out (from Amsterdam to Yorkshire and of course North London and the Barbican) to create the knitted and crocheted flowers that will adorn the set on panels knitted by top designer Stephen West of Westknits.
The show is going to be a beautiful piece of magical story-telling and bear in mind there are £18.50 tickets for the two preview performances on 4 and 5 December.
The show runs from the 4th of December to the 4th of January.
