Bren Gosling – turns out to be the brilliantly imaginative neighbour many of us never realised we had. His debut novel, STREET SWEEPER , which won the Novel London Literary Prize, an international competition that has grown from a small series of bookshop readings into a widely-recognised literary festival showcasing emerging and established writers alike, will be published on 28th March. Bren’s book also won the inaugural Book Edit Writer’s Prize and was shortlisted for the New Anglia Manuscript Prize. The book is available from Waterstones, Foyles, Hatchards, Blackwells, TG Jones, Amazon and other retailers in paperback or e book versions.
Bren is a graduate of City University’s Novel Studio. His short fiction is published in various anthologies and has been shortlisted for the London Short Story Prize, the Exeter Short Story Prize, and the Brighton Prize. He studied playwriting with John Burgess and wrote for Royal Court’s WF Listen Local. His plays have been produced across London, Manchester and East Anglian venues and have been On Comm Commended and Offies nominated. Twice commissioned, his new play in development Grossly Indecent was long listed for the inaugural Ilfeld Prize. He is part of Criterion Theatre New Writing .

Bren’s latest theatrical production INVISIBLE ME is a warm, witty, and big-hearted comedy drama about romance, second chances, and discovering that it’s never too late to start again. The play is coming to Southwark Playhouse Borough this spring starring Tessa Peake – Jones for a four week run.
When sixty is just the beginning…

– Jack, a newly widowed and HIV-positive gay man, is hurled back onto the singles scene after 35 years.
– And then there’s Alec, divorced, estranged from his grown-up kids, and still convinced he’s the same irresistible punk that pulled with a smile in 1982.
All three Londoners stumble into unexpected encounters their lives crack open in ways they never saw coming…

Bren moved with his partner into Thomas More House three years ago. ‘ We love The Barbican. It’s a brilliant place to live’. The boys split their time between here and their house in Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
