A festive shopping experience offering unique gifts for the urban generation – this is a Christmas market like no other.

The brightest stars in the world of fashion, homewares, and lifestyle products will showcase next season’s trends at the festive edition of SAMPLE. This free market on Greenwich Peninsula makes finding Christmas gifts a breeze with its handpicked selection of designers, independent producers and craftspeople. SAMPLE is open on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December from 11-7pm with both a day and night-time offering.

Greeting the savvy shoppers will be an alternative Christmas tree installation by jewellery designer Tatty Devine. ‘Rainbow Halo’ invites visitors to ‘live colourfully’ – featuring a rainbow archway sprinkled with jewelled stars, each one representing themes; love, peace, unity, luck, magic and joy; all in cosmic harmony.

Plus, Paula the polar bear, Greenpeace’s life-sized puppet, will be roaming around the Greenwich Peninsula to provoke conversation about climate change and how humans can co-exist with animals.

SAMPLE is a the unique pop-up market which celebrates the very best of emerging talent within the capital from the worlds of fashion, design, homeware, skincare, food and drinks offering their wares at one-off prices ahead of the new season.

There is the opportunity for the whole family to great crafty and learn new skills with both free and paid workshops, including award winning Hackney wine maker Renegade Wine offering free Christmas wine tasting, Darkroom presenting Bauhaus plate painting, Little Art Forms offering card making for children, Blend & Bloom doing wreath making and the chance to create your own personalised scent with a perfume making workshop run by Maya Nije.

Get a sharp new Christmas haircut whilst sitting in a silver airstream by Douce or visit the vintage mobile cinema bus to enjoy festive clips from Pathé films.

This year SAMPLE will see the return of a late-night food and drink market with delicious street food trucks and local traders offering award winning cakes, vegan treats and food from around the globe. All the shopping will be accompanied by live music, performances and top tunes from Brighton record label Mr Bingo and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM including DJ Ruby Savage and other surprise guests.

Keeping in the theme of fashion is a new exhibition at the NOW gallery by fashion designer, Richard Malone’s untitled, Rinse, Repeat – an interactive multi- disciplinary installation made up of three elements, creating a conversation around fashion, movement and art and runs from 28th November through to 27th February.

Based on the Greenwich Peninsula, which is a mere 20 minutes travel time from the heart of the west end to nearest tube station North Greenwich. SAMPLE is a modern take on a traditional Christmas market that is proud to encourage sustainability, small -scale enterprise slow fashion and champion locally sourced goods.
