*** A spring poem for you ***

By Natasha Anne Kelleher (March 2020)

Pink green hued leaves

Spring forth from nature’s lungs

Sunlight dappled through each

Fruitful laden twigs and branches wooden tongues

Stippling all in warmth of golden glow

Wherein upon through the miracle

Of photosynthesis their miracles do flow

They perpetuate incessantly

Through each season to grow

Blessing the planet year on year

Their brilliant colours splaying

Their ambiance ever aglow

Whilst freshening and cleaning

Earth’s air oxygen arraying

Their searching tentacle roots

Burrow deep underground

Hidden by darkness and cold

Ever there… burgeoning and old

How fortunate mankind to have their shade aloft

Amid the wide open meadows fields and crofts

Their ever present calm

The true friends of our earth

By which humans are encircled

Protected by their life giving breathing and enveloping arms…

Mamma Gia’s nature sheilding her children matriarchally
