Waves of the Modern Age

Waves of the Modern Age: an RGB Universe at HSBK by Carnovsky

Free entry // Launch Night Tuesday 5th March Running until end of June 2019

Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen will be transformed into an Instagrammers dream from 5th March, with the installation of an RGB Universe exhibition. The iconic live music venue will be covered in the artist Carnovsky’s dramatic printed wallpaper which explores the interaction between colour and light. The RGB Universe will encompass the natural elements of the universe with scenes depicting jungles, seas, animals, flowers and skeletons.

In each image three layers live together resulting in an unexpected and psychedelic world where the colors mix up and the lines and shapes entwine becoming oneiric and not completely clear.

When a different coloured light filter is projected onto the images, it becomes possible to discover the layers through which the image is composed. The filter’s colors are red, green and blue (RGB) each one of them serves to reveal one of the three levels in a different way.

The three worlds could belong to a specific animal kingdom or to an anatomical part, but at the same time are connect to a different psychological or emotional status that passes from the hidden to the clear, from the darkness to the light, from the dream-world to reality. The exhibition is an exploration of the surface’s deepness.

The colourful launch (open to press and public) on 5th March will also feature free sessions of colour therapy Chroma yoga and Hennessey Whisky cocktails.
