This mix of eclectic showcases is an inspiration for all from professional and international artists to emerging local talent.
The Rise of the Nonconformists Outdoor Exhibition
Breaks most social norms– it is a street art exhibition mounted on buildings for eight weeks from Sunday 16 July to 15 September 2017.
The Whitecross Street Party and its exceptional outdoor street art exhibition ‘The Rise of the Nonconformists’ started back in 2010 when a small team of disorganisers took inspiration from the local dissenter’s graveyard. This hallowed ground where prominent nonconformists William Blake, Daniel Defoe, John Bunyan and Susannah Wesley’s spirit were laid to rest provides the perfect setting for the event which encourages peaceful nonconformists to rise once again. The lively street art party and two-month hosted by City YMCA, London working with the London Borough of Islington, artist Teddy Baden and Creative Producer, Anila Ladwa.
The Whitecross Street Party is a fantastic family-friendly event for both the avid art lover and those that like something a bit different.
